At Brymbo St Mary’s school we make good use of people from the local community to share their experiences with the children. This has been particularly effective during a variety of topics including ‘The Schools and Museums project’ where KS 2 children reconstructed WW2 living conditions at Brymbo Enterprise center.

Early Years, Foundation Phase and Key stage 2  have all received visits from the local volunteers at Brymbo heritage. This resulted in: Pond dipping to investigate insects; planting apple trees and pressing apples to make apple juice.

We also have strong links between our setting and other settings in the Wrexham area.We have worked closely with the local horse riding center as we provide opportunities for our resource provision children to experience this. We also work closely with the Police liaison officers and the local church.

There are regular visits and exchange of ideas ensuring that best practice is disseminated on a regular basis.

We are closely linked to Brymbo Heritage Site and their ongoing project. See their Facebook page for more information.
