At St Mary’s, we carefully track the progress of every child to ensure that teaching and learning are tailored to meet individual needs. Our staff work closely with Mrs. Jones, our Additional Learning Needs Coordinator (ALNCo), to guarantee that learners requiring extra support have access to the right resources. Using a pupil-centred approach that involves children, families, and the school, we identify where targeted universal provision may be needed to help these pupils thrive and reach their full potential.
ALN in Wales introduced a unified, person-centred system with Individual Development Plans (IDPs), improving consistency and collaboration. For learners, this means earlier identification, clearer support, and greater involvement in decisions about their learning.
